R-rated Movies?

I just watched an R-rated movie at a movie theater.... And it was a good movie! But what about the rating? There were some blood scenes and cursing (I really do not like sex scenes in movies so I made sure this wasn't one of those), but I feel that if they took that out the movie wouldn't be the same... So then should we allow cursing? But the Bible tells us to "tame our tonges". So then should we not watch R-rated movies?

Here is a verse a teacher in bible college used to show us we shouldn't watch bad movies:

Ro 1:32 "32 Они знают праведный суд Божий, что делающие такие дела достойны смерти; однако не только их делают, но и делающих одобряют."

He said we approve of these sort of deeds when we watch movies.

I disagree.

how about another verse?

All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful.
1 Cor. 6:12

Lena, I haven't been able to access your blog for some reason. It says I'm not invited. I bet it's cuz the e-mail address I used for my blog is different from what I normally use. Could u please add me?

Jake at first I didn't see the "I disagree" statement. And I thought"ha, he's saying that after watching 10000 BC with us, kinda strange..."

Passion of Christ was r-rated too. everyone should watch it though. my take is, if you can't say the Lord clearly forbids something in His Word, but still feel a certain thing is wrong for YOU personally..... then go with your gut feeling, it's called conscience :) if not, then enjoy your liberty in Christ
