These pictures were taken last spring in Oregon. There was a huge forest fire a couple years ago and lots of acres of forest had burnt. Driving through the area gave me a feeling of complete desolation, all you could see from the highway were black barren stumps of trees. How amazing then it was to see all of the gorgeous flowers popping out everywhere and reaching up for the sun. I can't help but thinking of how awesome our God is Who brings life out of ashes, Who resurrects the dead and can make all our mistakes and failures work for His glory.

" Jesus said unto her: I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Believeth thou this?" John 11:25-26

Hi Guys,

Great to see your blog! I can't wait to see photos of what you guys are up to and all.

We will be in Oregon for most of August, we should plan on going camping or something (oh wait, you ladies are gorodskie and I don't know if you could camp like Eric and I, just kidding).

We have definately got to spend some time together, I am positive we will make it up to bend. Maybe you guys could come down for a weekend to Roseburg too.

See ya,
Jake

We wanna hang out with you guys for sure, it's great that you're planning a trip already! It's gonna be so fun in summer, we can go rafting on the Deschutes river and camp in the mountains. Can't wait to see you guys!

P.S.: Did you know that I used to strip feathers off the dead birds? How's that for a gorodskaya lady?

strip feathers? what?

I just remember that when we went to the blue lakes you went home to take a shower when all the others camped in tents!!!

August is just around the corner.

August is dove season and I would like to see you strip the heads off of the doves I shoot and bring to you:)
